Cleverly Cares: Stories That Strengthen Communities
At Cleverly, we believe the work we do should matter — not just to brands, but to the communities that surround us. That’s why we launched Cleverly Cares: a philanthropic initiative that puts our skills and services to work for organizations making a real difference.
This year, we’re proud to partner with the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, a nonprofit that has been fueling student achievement across Billings since 1988. The Foundation works to fill critical gaps in public education — from addressing food insecurity to supporting classroom innovation and helping students pursue further opportunities after high school.
Cleverly will be providing videography and strategic video services — including short- and long-form storytelling — for the Foundation to use at events, on their website, in presentations, on social media, and broadcast. The goal is clear: help them tell authentic stories that encourage giving and deepen community engagement.
Why This Matters — From Cleverly Leadership
“The happiest people are both growing and giving — and we’re passionate about making an impact in our community without strings attached.”
— Kally Amundsen, Cleverly Company Managing Director
Our leaders shared the vision behind this partnership: making a difference isn’t just about money. It’s about compounding impact, especially for youth and future generations. Because for many of us — whether we’re parents or community members — the need is deeply personal.
“As a mom with children in the education system, I know how profound the impact of resources can be. Every experience matters, and when we help even a little, the ripple effect is exponential.”
— Jenn Fancher, Cleverly Company Creative Director
More than financial support, we’re investing the reach of our services — the tools we use every day to help clients tell impactful stories — in a way that can expand awareness, fuel donations, and ultimately make it easier to fund the Foundation’s life-changing work.
Who the Billings Education Foundation Is and What They Do
The Education Foundation works closely with Billings Public Schools to support students, teachers, and classrooms in meaningful ways. Their work includes:
• Meeting Basic Needs and Fostering Stability
Programs like BackPack Meals and school-based pantries ensure students facing food insecurity don’t go hungry — so they can focus on learning and thriving.
• Supporting Educators and Innovation
The Foundation’s Classroom Grants fund innovative projects that wouldn’t otherwise be possible, giving teachers the resources to inspire students every day.
• Encouraging Lifelong Learning
Initiatives like Reading Rocks help young learners stay engaged over the summer, preventing learning loss and fostering a love of reading.
• Empowering Students Beyond the Classroom
Scholarships and programs like the Angel Fund provide crucial support for students’ basic needs and future goals.
These efforts reach thousands of students and educators every year — and the stories behind them are the kind we’re excited to help share.
The Power of Visual Storytelling
Storytelling is more than explaining what an organization does. It’s about helping people understand why it matters — and why their support makes a difference.
That’s where video becomes especially powerful, particularly for nonprofits focused on recurring giving. Visual stories allow people to see the faces, experiences, and outcomes behind the mission, making the impact tangible instead of abstract.
At Cleverly, visual storytelling is a core part of our work. Our videography team has spent years creating stories that move people to act — from community-focused campaigns to large-scale fundraising initiatives, including projects like the Billings Clinic Classic annual fundraiser video, where storytelling plays a key role in supporting awareness and engagement.
“The goal isn’t just beautiful videos — it’s making it easier for people to understand the Foundation’s work and feel confident supporting it.”
— Dillon Davies, Cleverly Company Videographer
That experience gives us confidence that we can help the Education Foundation tell stories in a way they haven’t fully had the opportunity to before — stories designed to support small, recurring donations and make fundraising feel more personal and accessible.
Looking Ahead: Bigger Impact, Broader Reach
Cleverly Cares isn’t designed to live in just one place.
Our team is fully remote, spread across multiple states and communities. Even though we don’t all work in the same office, we share something important: a desire to make a real impact where we live.
This partnership with the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools is the starting point — not the finish line. As Cleverly Cares grows, our goal is to expand the program so nonprofits in the communities our team members call home can be part of it, too.
“Even though we’re remote, we care deeply about making an impact together. This is a way for us to show up — collectively — in the places that matter to us.”
— Jenn Fancher, Cleverly Company Creative Director
Over time, we envision Cleverly Cares becoming a program nonprofits actively seek out — not just for support, but for the opportunity to tell their story in a meaningful way. One that helps generate awareness, encourage giving, and create lasting momentum.
This work is about growth and giving. About using what we’re good at to support what matters. And about making sure the communities that shape our team are part of the impact we’re building together.
What Really Matters
The work being done in the classroom, behind closed doors, and in the lives of students isn’t always visible. But through thoughtful partnership and intentional storytelling, we can help make it impossible to ignore.
Because when community stories are told well, the impact is felt long after the final frame.
